If you found yourself here, there is a high probability that you or someone you love is suffering from a broken heart. Is it due to a death, divorce, or another major loss? If so, you might feel sad, distracted, or confused. You are not alone.
The Grief Recovery Method has been helping people feel better following a loss for 40 years. There are several different formats available to meet various needs. All formats are led by Erica Baun, a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute. The Grief Recovery Method is an action-based, powerful, directed approach to healing from life's deepest heartbreaks. I currently offer The Grief Recovery Method in groups, one-on-one, and pet loss sessions, both in-person and virtually. I also offer Helping Children with Loss, available in-person only.
This is a structured, evidence-based program that follows a set curriculum. This program relies on active engagement including weekly attendance, group participation, reading, and homework.
The cost of each format includes books and all course materials. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of scheduling to cover these materials.
Groups require a minimum of 6 participants to proceed, which allows for effective breakout groups of 3. Groups are limited to 12 participants for in-person sessions and 9 for online sessions to maintain a focused and engaging environment. While family members or close friends may join the same primary group, they will be placed in separate breakout groups to encourage open and balanced discussion. If the minimum number of participants is not met, potential participants will have the option to either enroll in one-on-one sessions or wait for the next available group offering.
One-on-one sessions are typically scheduled during regular business hours, but if that doesn’t fit your availability, alternative arrangements may be possible upon request. For clients scheduling two sessions per week, there must be at least two days between sessions—for example, Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday—to allow time for reading and homework.
