The Grief Recovery Method is an action-based, powerful, directed approach to healing from life's deepest heartbreaks. I currently offer The Grief Recovery Method in groups, one-on-one, and pet loss sessions, both in-person and virtually. I also offer Helping Children with Loss, available in-person only.
If you found yourself here, there is a high probability that you or someone you love is suffering from a broken heart. Is it due to a death, divorce, or another major loss? If so, you might feel sad, distracted, or confused. You are not alone. The Grief Recovery Method has been helping people feel better following a loss for 40 years. There are several different formats available to meet various needs.
Our support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. These groups are led by Grief Recovery Method Specialists, trained and certified by the Grief Recovery Institute. Groups meet weekly, at the same time, for 8 weeks. Each session is not more than 2 hours (usually). Available in-person and online.
The loss of a pet can be emotionally devastating. Sadly, the impact of the heartbreak of this type of loss is often downplayed or ignored by friends and family. This 6-meeting program is focused on offering pet owners an effective mechanism for taking action to move through and beyond their grief. Available in-person and online.
The GRM Alumni Group is for those who have previously completed the Method in either the One-on-One or Group formats. In this program, participants will be able to work through an additional loss they have experienced using the tools of the Method they learned previously. The GRM Alumni groups provide the emotional support, safety, and confidentiality you are familiar with as you complete what is emotionally incomplete and a source of pain for you. Available in-person and online.
The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This 4-week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing. Available in-person only.
*Support Groups may not always be available, due to the requirement of having a minimum of 6 participants (as recommended by The Grief Recovery Institute). The primary group breaks out into small groups three people each. (Family members or close friends can be in the same primary group but not in the same small group.) Therefore, Support Groups may need to be rescheduled or canceled, depending upon enrollment. I truly appreciate your understanding of the fact that enrollment is something I can’t always control. Regardless, one-on-one sessions can be scheduled at any time. This is a scripted, evidence-based program and is not individually customized. There is a 50% deposit required at the time of scheduling to cover the cost of the book.
This program is for those who prefer to work face-to-face with a trained and certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist one-on-one, rather than in a group setting. This 7-meeting format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs in a more private setting. Available in-person and online.
